Kunlun caution

Hey everyone,
I wanted to give out a little info on the Kunlun techniques and some of the effects of the practice.  I talked to my energy teacher and described the techniques and he was very impressed with the methods and the effectiveness but he wanted to issue some caution and I wanted to relate this to all of you.

The Kunlun, Red Phoenix, and Golden Flower practices are very powerful.  Remember, Max's energy is so extreme that he can't even drive a car or balance a checkbook.  He can't even see the color of our clothing.  I've had a discussion with a Kunlun practitioner (ONLY 3-4 months of daily practice) and she described "blanking out" at times.  She found this frustrating.  After that one weekend seminar, I had some moments of emptiness happen a few times in the following three days.  This might start happening to you and there are some methods to slow down the movement.  Remember that Max said that this is the "Quick Quick" method.  But "Quick" referring to what destination?  What destination are you looking for?  Unless your destination is to reach a higher dimension altogether (body and mind leaving this plane of existence), I'd suggest the use of precaution with these techniques.  Cultivating and storing energy in an unbalanced way, with little preparation, and without the continued supervision of a teacher can be detrimental to physical and mental health.  I'm not trying to instill fear, I'm just trying to communicate the fact that these techniques are very good at opening up higher functions that most of us are not psychologically prepared to handle.

If you start to feel strangely or to have experiences of heightened awareness that are unsettling, there are some energy techniques that can be shown to slow the process down and ground more.  If you are "blanking out" in the middle of situations, you are not grounded.  There are some grounding techniques that are supplemental and will not affect the Kunlun practice.  When our energy gets big, we become like antennas and tuning forks and we can start to pick up other people's energies to the point that we can become unsure about what is "Me" vs. what is "Not Me".  Even a simple practice of wearing a pearl on the surface of the skin can be very protective from situations like this.

My personal take for my self and others is that we must be grounded before we start any of higher practices.

In old times, a teacher wont even teach you higher practices unless you were ready, unless you had done basic grounding work. Some tibetan traditions teacher ask students to do 100,000 prostrations, some zen monasteries used to not open the monastery door, even in kunlun student had to hold a 5-element posture of choice for 2 days.

What does grounding mean, in a nutshell that you are comfortable with basic practice such as breathing. That later on with higher practices, you will be able to end them and be OK.  A lot of people daily live life keeping themselves busy, and escaping our reality. It could be loss of relationship, loved on, an incident that happened many years ago etc. When we meditate (correctly-not escaping) our reality will come in front of us, and we must be grounded to be able to handle it.

Regarding Kunlun caution mentioned, we must have the basic ability to calm down, be in control, and bring the raised energy down to lower dantien. The system is designed and will not let you destroy yourself provided you follow it. If you were given transmission/initiation by a lineage transmittor, transmission is not only for opening  but also a protection.

Also in case mentioned above and others, it is advisable that you practice in a group or with a teacher or facilitator. They know of techniques to bring your energy down and calm you down.

Eugene,

I am wondering exactly what you meant by

"Remember, Max's energy is so extreme that he can't even drive a car or balance a checkbook."

Is that something to strive for?

What I meant by "Max's energy is so extreme" is exactly what I said.  Max cannot get himself to and from the airport.  He does not handle mundane affairs.  He does not drive a car.  He does not balance a checkbook.  He can't see the color of your clothes because of his faculty of sight being overpowered by third eye sight.  Sometimes he goes for 20 days without sleep and needs constant attention.

You must figure out for yourself if this is something worth striving for.  This is why I titled this post "Caution".  If you meditate with the goal of being like Max, you might not be happy with the results since this is the kind of lifestyle that may result.

What else are you wondering?  I can't tell you his world, I can only relate what he described.  I personally enjoy my job, my friends, driving my car, having a beer, playing games, watching movies... etc.  ya know, mundane life.  A few years of constant Kunlun and you could probably kiss most of that goodbye.  Granted, you might know the secrets of the universe... but I, frankly, don't care that much.
